FIRST VISIT - typically lasts up to 1.5 hours;
FOLLOWUP VISITS- approximately 45 minutes.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment to complete
your registration forms.
Before Your Visit - Tips on Preparing for Your First Visit
• Bring with you copies of recent diagnostic reports
(For example, laboratory tests, MRI, CAT scans)
• Wear loose fitting clothes
• Do not come on an empty or overly full stomach
• Refrain from overexertion, alcohol or drugs (except those prescribed by your doctor) at least 6 hours prior to your visit
• Do not brush your tongue
• Avoid drinking or eating anything that could change the color of your tongue, such as orange juice, chocolate, strong teas, candies/mints, coffee
During Your Visit - What
to Expect When You Come In
• Registration - If you have not already filled out your registration forms ahead of time, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork.

Comprehensive Consultation - We will discuss in detail your present condition as well as inquire about your sleep, diet, emotions, energy and lifestyle habits to get a complete picture of your health.
• Pulse / Tongue Diagnosis & Physical Examination - Part of evaluating your condition will involve examining the quality of your wrist pulses and tongue, as well as a physical examination of the area(s) of concern.
• Evaluation / Discussion of Treatment Plan - We will evaluate the information that you have provided us, and discuss with you a treatment plan and timeline of care.
• Acupuncture Treatment - Just relax and enjoy.
After Your First Visit - What to Expect and Do Between Visits
• You may find a small spot of blood or bruise at the sites of needling. This is common and should not be harmful, but if you are concerned, please speak with us.
• Avoid strenuous activities right after your treatment.
• Take a daily log noting any changes in your condition and/or other aspects of your health such as sleep, urination, bowel movements, etc.
